Is it normal to take days to have an instructible posted in the public? It does for me. Answered

Yes, It is normal to take days, weeks, even months to post a GOOD "instructable" . However theres a difference between making a good instructable and procrastinating.

The normal delay is less than an hour.

However, there is an automated filer system to prevent unsuitable projects hitting the lists. If the filter is triggered at the weekend (roughly Friday evening onwards), it can take several days before the filters are cleaned out by a real human being. Humans, being fallible, and subject to viruses that are not blocked by firewalls, may sometimes take longer to get things done (one of mine once took over a week).

I think he's referring to the delay between publishing and it showing in the listings. Yes, there is a delay. Publishing is immediate, showing in the listings is not. The length is related to two things I can think of - moderation to make sure its appropriate, and good enough to be posted - and the engine building your 'ible into the directory.
