Is it possible to transfer data via magnetic induction between two coils separated by a steel plate ? Answered

Is it possible to transfer data via magnetic induction between two coils separated by a thin steel plate of 2mm ? Or does the magnetic field gets diminished by the metal plate?

The magnetic field gets completely cut off by the steel plate.

what if you used an oscillating magnetic field that propagates at the speed of light, and had a piece of wire that transmitted this field that was 1/4 the length of the wavelength and inversely proportional to the frequency?
