Is the Wii Worth it? Answered

I always thought the wii wasn't for me. I find a lot of elements...stupid and useless... I've had multiple chances to own a wii, but have turned them down... Lately a couple of good games have come out, but not enough to convince me to buy it though. So, do you think the wii is worth buying?

depends on if you're more into imerssing gameplay, or if you're into internet capabilities and sharper image.

Apparently, more so than a PS3 or XBox360, judging by sales and interest.

No. It's all mini game compilations and crap like that. The only good games are Nintendo's own.

A lot of games such as Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End and Prince of Persia: Rival swords (which isn't even an original game, it's a port of Prince of Persia: Two Thrones from a year or something ago) use the same motions over and over again, such as swinging the wiimote down to attack. You do this over and over and over and over and over again.

BLARGH!

The Wii is a unique experience. I'm not much for video games, but I like the Wii. My brother got it for Christmas, and I know he loves it. But knowing him, of course he still wants a PS3 and an XBOX...

I think it is, it's a lot of fun and I like it better than any other videogame system.

I think you hit the nail on the head. As a parent of pre-teens, I'm really not all that interested in a "serious gaming machine" capable of running all the latest barely distinguishable FPS and Martial Arts games online. I'd rather have "Fun."

I was the one that wanted the Wii. We both play my husbands PS2. (I love Legos Starwars, Sly Cooper and Jak&Daxter!)

It's fun when friends and family come over and we can play bowling but after a while, we were still playing the PS2 because the games are cheaper and still fun. We probably outta buy a new Wii game but right now, we are still happy with the PS2.

I haven't heard that a Wii game is "AMAZING, SUPER, GOTTA BUY & TOTALLY WORTH IT!!"
But we haven't had it that long. So maybe after a few games, I will feel like it's worth it.
Just me.

I have a wii and a 360, the wii has some great games... plus ghost squad, but the 360.. an abbreviation and a roman number... GTA IV now as for the wii... get one and enjoy it., or don't get one and enjoy it... if you want it for innovative use of stuff get it if you want it for innovative games get it if you want it to fuel your need for gaming ... don't get it

It entirely depends on what you want. I mean, it's online capabilities can sortof suck because of lag, but at the same time, it is an experience unlike anything else. So, if you have friends on the other side of the world that you like playing with, then no, don't get a wii. But otherwise, it's cheaper, and it does have some good games.

Depends if you want it for serious gaming or a more "Wow, I shake the controller and the man shakes too" type of experience. I'm borrowing a Wii for this weekend, and I still play my xbox 360 more.
