Is there a FREE video editing software i can use to overlap two recordings? Answered

I play the guitar and i want to record myself playing Tears in Heaven by Eric Clapton, but i want to have the two different guitars playing. How can i film both parts and then overlap them so they play over each other? Is there a free video editing software for windows that will allow me to do this?

Is it just that you want the sound to overlap or do you want the sound AND the image to overlap?

Then you can download audacity (free) then record your track, record the other track off the vid. Then add them together in audacity, then put the result back in to the vid. replacing the original mix.
