Is there a "remember me" type option for Instructables.com? Answered

I keep getting logged out of Instructables so would like to have my details remembered or be always logged in. Cheers.

When you log in there is a box that can be checked so you are remembered. It generally works for me most of the time.

The other two answers are right, but I don't think it works indefinately, you do have to log-in again on a different day (I do anyway) L

. The only time I have to log in is after I scrub my system (which includes deleting all cookies) every two or three months. IIRC, cookies can be given a "good-for-X-seconds" param. It's not unusual for me to pull up Ibles 3-4 times a day, so a 24-hr cookie wouldn't affect me if it gets reset every time I auto-login. . IP address may be another factor. I have a cable connection and my IP can go 3-4 months without changing. Your IP probably changes every time you connect. . Just thinking out loud. ;)

. If you haven't done it already, try loggin in, quit your browser (w/o logging out or disconnecting), then pull up Ibles again. If you don't have to log in, that's would be a piece of evidence for my IP hypothesis.

I believe it without having to test it, but if I didn't that's what I'd do. L

It is IP based to some extent, I have to log in again every time I change my IP address, but it holds for weeks if I'm on a static IP. I'm on a laptop and I tend to move from one network to another a couple of times a week, the auto log in will continue working for one IP address until you try to log in from a different IP, it would be really cool if instructables would let you have a hand full of IP addresses associated with your user name rather than just one.

. Most web sites use cookies to keep track of who you are. Make sure that your browser is set to allow cookies from instructables.com and that your cookies aren't deleted when you quit the browser.
