Is there a way to search by key words? It seems that you have to scroll through every project. Answered

I am trying to find project how-to's but don't want to scroll through 55 pages of halloween projects to find what I'm looking for.  Is there a search box somewhere I haven't found?

Thank you all for the prompt responses. I thought that google custom search box at the top would take me to a general google search, not a search of the instructables site so I didn't try that. and i had no idea about that "site:" ability.

I like using google to search instructables.
just go to the address bar at instructables & put "site:" in front of the url
& your terms with minuses & quotes & everything you want after a space at the end of the url.

Like this-

You don't even need to do that! The search box at the top of the I'bles page is configured to "use Google," but automagically does the site:instructables.com qualifier for you.

Even better!
Thanks. Fortunately I'm better at building stuff than figuring out technology!

At the top-right of every page of the site is a box that says "GoogleTM Custom Search".

Use that.

If you don't get what you need right away, choose the "Graphical Search" option and use the drop-down menu to refine the results displayed.

Are you talking about that thing up in the right hand corner of the web page, up in the header that says google custom search? If it is, then that must be what your looking for.
