Is there a way to turn my Google account into a YouTube account without losing data? Answered

I've had problems with making a YouTube channel for quite some time.

I watch, like, and subscribe with my Gmail account, But I want to start uploading videos, and commenting.
When I open a real YouTube account, I start from scratch, meaning that I lose everything. I don't want this :(

Is there any way to turn my existing Google account into a YouTube Channel, without losing all my data?

Thanks,
     Yonatan

If you can like, subscribe etc, you have a "real" YouTube account.

Nope! :)

A real youtube account would make me able to comment, like comments, and upload videos.

What I'm able to do now is only what I can do with a regular Google/Gmail account...

YES!

I've finally opened mine... All of my data was kept, unlike the last two times. I think that's because I now have a G+ account... It also says that I joined back in 2014, so I guess that's when I made my Gmail account.

I plan on using it for pretty much the same thing as you do. Make short videos about things I've made, and documented as an I'ble.

Hmmm... I think I need to open a second channel too...

Now all I have to do is think of a good name. (i̶m̶p̶o̶s̶s̶i̶b̶l̶e̶)

Here it is: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCCRrZCQr5Edd3nKeq... Ahh... So empty..

Just sign into youtube you your google account. That should be all you have to do. If it is your first time logging into youtube with a google account, then it might take you to your channel and lead you through cusomizing your channel.

Oh, that's just to switch between accounts. I think I can do that by clicking on my profile picture that's on the top right corner :)

For me it also allows me to create new channels.

What is your age set at? I think you have to be over 13 or 16 or something to get a YouTube channel.

I'm pretty sure my age is set at 13, and if it is, it should be close to 14 already...

I think the only real age requirement is for monetizing videos, because many people can lie about their real age

The same age limit for Goolgle (13) applies to Youtube as well. Of course people can lie and if they do they are subject to having there accounts closed, possible bans, and maybe even criminal charges depending on if the age limit is federally mandated. If you are outside the US your country may impose different age limits as well.

I think the best place to get answers is from google or their forums. I'm sure this isn't a unique problem.
