Just Renewed Last Month and Now I Have An Email Saying It's About To Expire Answered

I renewed my Pro membership for a year last month and just received an email saying my membership is about to expire.  Under my account, it says my membership is good till April 2013.  Why am I getting this kind of email?

I ended up "double" renewing due to these emails (double in the case being 4 years as it prompted twice for a two year subscription), yesterday and I still got an email today saying it is about to expire (note, the link in the email is to renew for two years). When did you fix the clock bug? I received the latest "you need to renew" this morning (May 31) at 6:10am.

Also while FireFox and Safari seem to be working correctly, after attempting to log in under Chrome, I don't see the "You, Inbox, Shortcuts, Logout" at the top, just the "Signup or Login". I.e. I can't log in under Chrome. Cookies are all accepted, etc.

No worries on the 4 year renew, as I LOVE Instructables, but it sure would be nice to get these bugs fixed. Thoughts on the above? Thanks!

For your login issue with Chrome, begin by clearing the cache and then try logging in and see if that works and keeps you logged in. If that doesn't work, then you might have a bug related issue with Chrome (that I helped another member fix). The solution is a little weird, but it solves the problem!

Go to settings > Options > Under the hood > content settings --- Select the box for "clear cookies and other site data when I close my browser" and then save and close Chrome. Then open Chrome again, and go to content settings again, and then uncheck the box and save.

Again, I know the solution sounds a little weird, and that's because there's a bug in Chrome. After you finish the steps, try logging into Instructables again. Let me know if it worked or if you need more help.

Clearing the cache did not work, but clearing the cookies did the trick. Thanks! I should have thought of that, but I somehow correlated the "renewal email bug" with it. Bad correlation on my part. Thanks again!!

You're welcome. And just so you know, the Chrome bug is with the cookie settings. Even if you delete the cookie (in Chrome) and try revisiting the website you're having the problem in, it won't make a difference. You have to go through that weird process of checking and unchecking the box for it to work. (I don't know why, but I guess that's why they call it a bug). ;-)

Hi there,

We had a problem with the clocks in our database that caused it to think it was the wrong day. We've since fixed the problem, and I can confirm that your Pro membership will not expire until April 2013.

Read your email - what *year* does the membership expire?

The email does not list a year , this is what the email looks like:

Hi eclipsed, Your current Instructables Pro membership is about to expire. It will automatically roll over to your gift membership "trace****". You don't have to do anything. This email is just to let you know. Thanks for being a part of the Instructables community, and for supporting DIY and Instructables! Cheers, Instructables Pro Robot

Same thing happened to me. I just renewed 10 days ago and now it's saying my Pro is about to expire again.
