Kiteman visits Torchwood... Answered

We just got back from a trip to South Wales - lovely weather, and we managed to visit a couple of iconic locations;
It's just a real shame that the base got destroyed last year, so the kerbstone wasn't working...
Unfortunately, the Sands but up against an active MoD firing range, so most of it was shut (we could hear explosions and something that sounded like the mother of all machine guns).

We did get to play on the sand, though - it is astonishingly flat, and very firm.  Apparently that's all down to the precise shape and size of the grains.

I also found a new favourite castle (Kidwelly), and Conker-X found a new favourite duck (White Headed), and Roger-X was savaged by yet another species (Coscoroba Swan).

If anybody is planning a holiday, we can all heartily recommend a stay in South Wales.

Very interesting....so "torchwood" exists, if only as a set for filming ?

The exteriors of most of the series are real locations (mostly Welsh so far, although the coming series leaves the area).

The "only" show I get to watch (with the wife's permission) as the series airs is Dr. Who, which we get at 10 PM Sat night. Not too late for me to be up (I like getting up a bit early on Sunday) and I don't have to work :-)

I am like 3 seasons behind in House,  Eur3ka, Numb3rs, Bones, etc. and have only seen one episode of The Big Bang Theory;  and am a few episodes behind in Sanctuary.....I rarely even have time to watch them later (those I can) on OnDemand.  :-(

Torchwood will be available on BBC iPlayer - I believe it can be accessed via some sort of proxy server if you are outside the UK.

BTW: as much as I would love to catch up to all the shows I've missed by getting the "videos"; I just can't afford them....and subscriptions that don't involve my wife are not koshure either. :-)

We've been visiting Amroth, just down the coast from there, for the last ten years.  Pembrokeshire is a lovely area and Kidwelly castle is great.  There's several others worth a visit around there too.

It's a shame you didn't get over to Skomer island.  There'll be around 6,000 breeding puffins there at the moment.  The first time we went in August when they'd just left, and the second time in April when they'd arrived but hadn't started laying so we saw them as tiny dots wayyyyy out at sea.

Most amazing blue beak I have ever seen.
I can understand why at first the platypus was considered
the handiwork of a taxidermist.
