Kitty Litter Bucket Group/Sites/Ideas???
Does anyone know if there are any groups are sites that promote/share ideas for reusing Kitty Litter Buckets? Maybe it's because we have four cats, but I find new uses for those things Buckets all the time! I'd like to see some more varied ideas and uses... and I had a hard time finding any 'inspiration' when I came up with the idea to use them for shelving.
Keep sharing those ideas to reuse!!

Why is it sold in buckets? That seems wasteful, ours just comes in bags.

My guess is because it's such a large quantity and the larger the container, the better value you get. These size buckets are around 40 lbs for typical clump litter. I tried the "lite" version and it was lousy. Our local pet supply store has a nice bulk setup where you bring in your empty pail and fill it up from a large "basin" of loose litter. It's not as good a price though (which is backwards). I've been collecting rain water in mine until I figure out how I want to permanently repurpose them.

I have no idea why it comes it buckets, but the kinid we get does. And yeah it does seem wasteful, but If I threw them out it would be wasteful, hence the reason I'm trying to find ways to reuse them and encourage others to do the same.
Do you have any projects you've come up for with using the bags your comes in?

I’ve found that Acetone will take the labels right off of the plastic buckets. Be sure to wear gloves and be careful.
I started thinking what all I've used these buckets for and here
are a some of the Litter Bucket projects I’ve done so far. I need to get a few more of these done as instructables:
- Worm compost bucket (small indoor compost)
- Wire spool holder
- water reservoir for gravity plant watering system
- wall mounted shelves
- free standing shelves
- recycling bins
- storage

i got one under the sink to hold plastic bags from the grocery store.
I use them to hold cat food, and kids toys.

Just do a search on here for bucket instructables and I'm sure you'll find some inspiration. Just yesterday someone posted a half bucket tool holder and my fav is the field sink that uses buckets. Shouldn't be hard to use the litter buckets or get inspired.
