Knex Frag Grenades (Happy Now Senior Waffleman!!) Answered

So I've been looking around and all I see are little tiny grenades that just link together. So when you throw them they don't explode they just break apart. The pic below is a example of a normal grenade. It has a Safety,it looks decent, and it has a fairly good frag radius. So tell me what you think or post a pic of a decent grenade

Yours doesn't actively throw the piece out, either. It's pretty much like those fall-apart grenades with a rubber band wrapped around it.

This here is a good example of a Knex grenade:

Well it may not be as good as the "Monster Grenade" in terms of frag radius but I like it because it does its job and it doesn't need 1000 pieces and NO it doesnt just fall apart

This is an interesting one. It's nice that it's stable until you pull the pin. You could in theory modify this slightly so that it could be launched from a gun if you figured out how to get the pin to catch on the gun as it's being flung. Then it should hold together during the shock of acceleration but it shouldn't be disturbed if the pin is carefully removed as it's flying. I'd probably stick with a blue rod sized one for that, though.

I actually have a good idea for doing that. Have a double pin that strikes both sides, and attach the grenade to the gun with a balljoint. If that's not secure enough, we can have a rod go through the pin I guess.

But if you use a red rod wouldn't it be hard to load considering you can't build the "explosive" part and then slide it onto the red rod. Or do you mean you make the grenade with a red rod and then click it into the gun or chamber

Sorry when you said "We can have a rod go through the pin I guess" I was reading it fast and thought you said "Red Rod"

I have one as well. I figured you could use a yellow connector on the back and use it in an over-under rail gun that stops the yellow connector. You could make it complicated and unload the pin somehow or you could make it simple and pretty much make it a rail pin gun in which you could transfer this grenade from its original pin to the pin on the rail gun .
