The answer to, where to find LEDs, is I think the same answer to where to find any other kind of electronic component, especially passives, like resistors, capacitors, inductors, other kinds of diodes, etc.

It is a discussion that has been seen here before, as forum topics, and 'ibles both.

I think the main difference between electronic parts sellers, is small companies that sell mostly surplus and new-old-stock (NOS), goldmine-elec-products.com, or bgmicro.com, or allelectronics.com, versus big companies, with encyclopedia-like selection, selling factory new parts, like digikey.com, or mouser.com.

If you care about price, the small surplus sellers will often, but not always, have better prices, on their less varied selection of what they have.

Also if you want low prices, and you do not mind it coming from China or Hong Kong, and you can endure long shipping times... well, I guess that is what the direct-from-China eBay sellers are for.

Although, you should not rule out the mega-meta-retailers like eBay, or even ScAmazon, completely, if their interface has a way to sort search results by shipping distance, and also ways to discover, ahead of time, who or where, your parts are being shipped from.
