LEGO Tower Is Impessive, Yet Boring Answered

So up in Toronto they built a 29.3 meter tall tower of LEGO. It's a new world record. Some "master builders" were overseeing it. There are images of flags on the side.

But still, it's just a tower of LEGO. Doesn't really inspire me, but maybe you guys think differently. Am I missing something?

Impressive, yet pointless? Looks like it's stabilised by guy-ropes too, so even less impressive. L

That's right, it has a lot of support. What bugs me is that people should be creative with their LEGO, but this is just stacking.

Yeah, I agree. I wonder what kinds of brick they used? If they used all 1x1 plates, then yes, this is cooler, but if they used anything more than 2x4 bricks, its just stupid. I'm also wondering how they attached the guy ropes, theres those little plates that have a thing sticking out with a hole, but I don't think it would be strong enough...

The camera angle makes it look taller than it is. I haven't seen any other shots, but I know that angle does that.
