Laptop fan dead Answered

The Fan died in my old XP laptop. I would like to glue another fan on the bottom directly under the bad fan and power it by USB. Has anyone done this?

Replacing fan requires major laptop dis-assembly and re-assembly.

So?
Gluing an extra fan under the broken one only gives you more problems as you can not get a proper airflow.

For almost all laptops you can find detailed instructions on how to take them apart safely and a replacement fan is only a few bucks.

Even if there is no perfect fan available anymore (being XP you laptop will be discontinued) you can get ones that will fit.

Don't want to be the bad guy but I suspect a glued on fan will only cause overheating of components and in the long time wreck your laptop.
