Laser cut parts Answered

I'm looking for help getting some new smaller drafting tools cut. The cut area is no bigger then 9"x6", I was hoping to get the part cut out of .04" clear Lexan, I can supply if needed. I'd also like to have the parts etched as well if that is possible as well. I have the rough drawing done in AutoCAD so far.

I'm a member at TechShop RDU in Raleigh, NC and also have lasercutters in my studio nearby. Lexan doesn't cut well on the laser cutter, but plexiglass (acrylic) does. It's a small differentiation, but I wanted to be sure you were aware of the constraints.
I can have a look at your files and let you know how much it would cost for us to fabricate these for you. You can email me at christie at markplaga dot com. We could source the materials here and just charge for shipping to you if that fits your timeframe. Similar to Ponoko but most likely less expensive and with a more personalized approach.
I look forward to hearing from you!

Thank you for your offer. I just need to do some final touch up work on the CAD file be for it's in any shape to send. Would you happen to know if your able to find plexiglass in 0.06" thick?

Not sure where you live... but there are several TechShop's around the US that you can go to to make stuff like that.

You can learn more about it here at TechShop's Website.

Ya I'm in the northern Virginia area. A Techshop would be nice but there don't seem to be any in my area, at least that I know of or Google is willing to tell me about.

I think the closest for you is Raleigh NC.

It could be worse, you could be 955 miles away from the closest location (like I am). :(

There's always Ponoko...
