Nahhh you're fine :)

It can be lethal, it's a bit like chlorine in terms of chemical properties I think. Use a bit of ventalation and you should be perfectly fine!

No need to be concerned on this one. Ozone is merely 3 molecules of oxygen held together by the extra electron pushed in by the high voltage. It is not lethal and you will NOT find ozone as listed as a cause of death anywhere. That is all hype and misinformation. Ozone can be very pleasant is small concentrations but, if you read the MSDS (materials safety data sheet) on it, can cause irritation at high concentrations. Ozone is more effective than chlorine at killing pathogens and disabling viruses by dissolving the lipid layer over the DNA snippit, it is used in water purification, swimming pools (the expensive ones) and is disinfection of all sorts. It's non carcinogenic and is made with electricity and oxygen.

What's that smell? Does it smell a bit cool and refreshing?

Exactly like it was rushing in my nose and felt like a cool smell

Ozone in high concentrations can be lethal. Short exposures to the tiny amounts in your arc are just unpleasant.

Sunlight creates ozone at ground level, especially near the sea.

I'm not the one that asked the question, but am wondering:

That "cool, refreshing, yet kind of weird" smell that comes from ionizers (or his (Jacob's Ladder?)) is the ozone, or the negative ions?

I've heard that the ozone that comes out is dangerous in high quantities can slowly dissolve plastic too

I love the smell of LOFFT (Lethal Ozone From Flyback Transformer). That smell. That ozone smell. It smells like high voltage victory.

Does it smell like a photocopier?

That's ozone, but you'll be fine if you keep the space ventilated, preferably with the air flowing from you to the device to the the outside.
