Link info empty
When answering a question and using the link button to embed a link the info page comes up empty. It used to have a place to paste the link after highlighting the link key word.
Using windows xp and firefox.

Yeah, we've seen this and we're looking for good fixes. In the meantime, the workaround is to click over to another tab in the popup (like "Target") and then back over. The UI then shows up properly.

It does show up but I'm still unable to use the link to highlight a word and have that be the link.
That whole sentence above should be orange and should be the link for a site.

But the link I embedded didn't show up anywhere.

Here's a test link. Just making sure it works: I highlighted the first sentence, clicked on the link button, did the annoying switch to another tab and back, and then pasted in the link URL. The last annoying thing I just noticed is that there is no way to click OK to add the link once you're done. Instead, you have to hit <return> to get it to insert the link.
Sorry this is so confusing! We'll get it fixed!

Mine doesn't work that way. I'm with you all the way but my link doesn't embed. I've tried it several times and with my xp and firefox it just doesn't work right yet.

We've fixed the problem that I described. It just made it out to the site. When you have a moment, please try inserting some URLs again and see if things are any better for you. I'm worried that you have a different bug than the one we fixed.

It works for me.

. heehee I still find it easier to go straight to the source and add the A tags.
. An OK btn would be a big help. ;)

. Off Topic
. It would be nice if the style drop-down menu could be displayed as individual btns (a la B and I), possibly in their own bar (but that would mean making the editing window taller). Just a suggestion and well worth every penny you paid for it.

It's not clear that you just hit "enter", though - the only visible button is "cancel".

I have the same problem in my new instructable.
If you go to hte second tab, "target" then back to "info" it lets you paste in your desired link, but still no "ok" button appears :(

Yeah the only thing for me is a "cancel" button.

Tesing this on MacOSX 10.5.8, FF 3.0.4... Confirmed. It must be something in the JavaScript, not the client end. This certainly worked last night :-/<br /> <br /> As a workaround, you can put URLs into the text: https://www.instructables.com/community/Link-info-empty/ . The post-processing will see them and turn them into hyperlinks. Just don't put punctuation adjacent to the URL string!<br />
