Looking for a project buddy in Toronto Answered

Hello, my name is Michael and I am looking for a project buddy (like a workout buddy) to help maintain motivation when working on projects. I live in Toronto, and due to size constraints I cannot work on projects in my apartment. I have access to a workspace located at www.interaccess.org (corner of Queen St and Ossington). I am looking for someone who would like to join me in working on projects. Much like a workout buddy. The goal is to find someone to meet up with and to go work on projects together so that we can both help keep each other motivated. In terms of the projects involved - We can either work together on the same project together (one week we could work on mine, one week we could work on yours), - We could meet up together at the same place (the interaccess workspace) and work on our separate & respective projects. Me I am a mechanical engineer with a machinist license, and an electronics and software background. I am an excellent tutor and have excellent fabrication and coaching skills. The workspace also has some electronic tools and shop tools. Please let me know if anyone is interested in joining me.

Already did, Someone who knew me recognized my request and recommended I try Instructables (and he showed me the Toronto Group on instructables. I tried posting to the Forum for that group, but wound up in Burning questions) Currently though, that guy is in Mexico City and won't be back for a bit.

Sigh...it sounds like the group-topic bug is still active :-(

There's supposed to be an update to the server code released either this week or next; hopefully it will include a fix. In the mean time, all of us who prefer to make postings to specific Groups are screwed.

Wow, do I understand that situation. I have to admit, I am no where near you, but it is sometimes hard to maintain some form of motivation when you have such a disparaging situation to live in (I mean mine, not necessarily yours).

Damn, I could do with that kind of motivation, I still don't have a single friend that encourages my projects, hell one of them actually stopped me from buying a bulk of parts for my jet engine projects, I would have had hundreds of spare bits that I could sell off uber cheap at the end and pay for it...

Sydney here, damn. You sound like an incredible person Michael. Good luck in finding someone. It sounds like an excellent way of "keeping motivated". Just remember, there are many of us here whom are more than willing to collaborate on a project with you. We may not be able to stop by and meet in person, yet the abundance of motivative speakers will certainly have you finishing your projects if you say you have a deadline. A good one would be to orientate it towards a contest. That way you are forced to finish your project.
