Low pass filter on LED Music Controller Answered

I've purchased following controller: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/131775427312

I was wondering whether it was possible to create a lowpass filter with potmeter, so that the LED only will be changing to the low frequencies?

Not possible with a potentiometer, get a suitable controller instead or check the circuits for these old style music activated "traffic lights" - those things with three lamps reacting to different parts of the sound spectrum.

To be more specific i have an LED rgb strip, which works fine with my controller. However i feel like it is being a bit random since it light up on all frequencies, where i would like it to turn on based on only low frequencies.

Then don't buy 5$ china-junk and use suitable controllers instead ;)
