MASH-UPS? Answered

Does anyone else seem to think that a lot of the entries here are not technically mash-ups. I entered one that, the more I think about, isn't really a mash-up. Sure I combined a couple of things to make something new, but unless you consider turning two decorative things into a third decorative thing a "mash-up", I'm not entirely sure it fits this contest. I'm working on something that I think will be more appropriate, but I'm curious what everyone else thinks.

Sounds interesting, I like a lot of the work on the contest though, good stuff. only time will tell what the true meaning of mashup is

yeah, it seems that almost none of these are mashups. one mashup that really comes to mind is the knee pad bra, I think that's a mashup. It seems like whenever people post instructables recently they just put it in the contest, even though it does nothing with being a mash up. If I were the judges I'd be mad because it's just more things that u have to look through that arn't related.

Hey, the knee-pad bra was mine! But yeah, I am trying my best to enter a mash-up. I just entered an Altoids Tin Portable Fan. I had a tough time thinking of what to do, but it finally came to me. But like Zach said, if it isn't a mash-up, it won't win.

I agree that very few of them are actually "Mash-ups". Not sure how some of them were put up there even. I'm still frying my brain with coming up with one though.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that if it isn't a mashup -- it won't win.

I'm sure you're right, I wonder how flexible the definition is though.
