Mouser Answered

Mouser is my favorite Electronic place ot get my components, it's interface is nicer than many others, along with their price and shipping and responsivness. There's only two things that I don't like about it. - The sub catagories are sometimes weird so you don't always know where you are going to find stuff, like 10 V is different from 10V is different from 10Volts is different from 10 Volts. -Another thing I don't like (and why I'm posting this to see if there isa solution) is that you can't sort items by price, for I always want the lowest costing component, and I usually find it after sifting though several pages, but that's a pain in the but. Is there a way of sorting by price?

Mouser is a little to complex for me, but they have so many components its hard to resist. I'm getting some stuff from Jameco and I have to save I'm already a big fan of their site.

Back in the day before the Net, when I ordered from catalogs, Mouser and Jameco were my two main sources....nice to see they are still going strong.

I've always noticed that Volts, V, v, etc thing too. I talked with someone that works there and they've started to fix the problem. You can notice certain areas changing if you go there often. Resistors for example..

I've been wondering the same thing. Had a chat with "Vincent" via Live Chat:

You are now chatting with 'Vincent'
Vincent: Welcome to our live chat service.
Vincent: Hello. How may I assist you?
Me: When I do a search on your web site, how can I sort the results by price?
Vincent: we don't have this function

Seems like an easy enough feature to add. Not sure why they don't.

Is there a way to copy paste the info into, say EXCEL or some other spread sheet? You could sort it from there as you like.

well, they don't have a great organization system, like 10v is different from 10 v is different from 10 volt is defferent from 10volt.

This is "online" I am assuming. Way back I would get their...um catalogs (nearly an inch thick newspaper style pages, with so many parts and brands it was a bit overwhelming at times....but a great source for sure.

Yes, their current catalog is about 2 1/2" thick. It's organized very well tough.

Anyway, I sent an email to mouser asking them about sorting search results by price. Here is the response:

We are working on this and you should see it soon.

Sounds good. Now if they could just set a standard for their data entry people so that certain designations (for instance, voltage ) would all be listed under the same search.

guyfrom7up got it :P If you order enough, you'll start getting catalogs. I find them easier to skim, and then I cross-ref. them on the site whenever I'm buying basic components like resistors, transistors, or caps. The one downside is that they sort, at a fairly high level, by manufacturer.
