Multiple comments posted to Instructable Answered

I am seeing that multiple copies of the same comment are being posted to my instructable.  This seems to be a newer bug happening over the last few weeks.  It is only occurring for some posters.

For example, user jacobv10 and usmang6 each posted the same comment 3 times.

The forums are retiring in 2021 and are now closed for new topics and comments.

That looks like the commenters were just a little impatient and hit "Make Comment" several times. Depending on their system and connection speed, sometimes there's a bit of a lag between that first click and seeing the comment appear live.

I've gone ahead and cleared those extras. In the future if you flag duplicate comments, that will send them to a queue and an admin will take a look and remove them.

Hi Sam,

Thanks for clearing those comments. That's quite a coincidence that 2 separate users had multiple instances of bursts of 3 identical comments. Seems like a bug to me but time will tell...

I don't see a place to " flag duplicate comments." Can you tell me how to do that?

I see that quite a bit actually; I occasionally even do it myself. (If I hit "Make Comment" twice in quick succession, two duplicate comments will appear.)

However, that being allowed to happen may very well be due a bug, so I'll prod the correct individuals to take a closer look :)

If you flag them as "inappropriate" that works for us.

Maybe it could be an option to add a "flag duplicate comments" under the "flag" options...
