0verence 8 years ago Do you have the manual for the device? If not, try to download it on the internet. Then just try to follow the menu structure in the manual. Like: Select on top left item, then it's the second item ... If the device has a graphic display with icons, just compare the pictures with the manual. If anything else fails, make a brute-force-attack by systematically trying any menu and sub menu. Take notes of what you have already tried. Do you know the language that's used now? You could try to find someone who speaks that language. Be careful with bwrussel's idea of poking things into your device. The Garmin etrex GPS has a little hole on the back that looks a bit like a reset switch (it's too small for a pen, though) That hole is not for reset, but the 'breathing hole' for the barometric (pressure) sensor inside.
