Need help on 3 fingered Claw modification for instant release Answered

Please look at the following instructable from reference

I need your help in modification of your claw design. I will use very strong springs for instant release of claw. So I need a mechanism which can close the claw gradually but can also release the claw instantly, can you give me hint?

If your looking for the authors help then ask in the instructable.

How fast the claw will release will depend on how fast your motor can turn. You'll probably want to use a good stepper motor rather than a servo. You'll be able to close the claw very slowly but also have the ability to open it fast.
