Nerd Pride Movie Night 2: Ghostbusters, 7:30/8:30pm 6/15 at Instructables HQ Answered

Come to Nerd Pride Movie Night. We have ice cream.

We had a great group here last time for Real Genius- who's ready for Nerd Pride Movie Night 2.0? It's a fine opportunity to meet the people behind the usernames, have some snacks, and yell at the screen when necessary. In fact, we encourage it. It's Eric's birthday, so we'll have homemade ice cream too!

The movie:
Come watch Ghostbusters, another nerd cult classic from 1984. Starring Dan Aykroyd, Bill Murray, Sigourney Weaver, Harold Ramis, and Rick Moranis.
Plot summary: Three unemployed parapsychology professors set up shop as a unique ghost removal service. Who you gonna call?

The Details:
Starting at 7:30pm we'll serve Andrea's fabulous homemade ice cream, meet each other, and give tours of the control tower. We'll start the show at about 8:30pm, shortly after sunset.
We'll provide the ice cream and toppings, some starter snacks, and fresh popcorn for the movie. Bring some movie snacks and whatever you'd like to drink.

Location:
Instructables, 2175 Monarch St, Alameda, CA
Note that the mapping programs don't get our location exactly right. We're in the control tower at the old Alameda naval air base.
Directions here that work best when coupled with the map of the base. I'll see about updating them; in the meantime, PM me if you've got any questions.

What is Nerd Pride Movie Night?
Nerd Pride movies celebrate nerds doing their thing. These are not just movies for nerds, or movies nerds like to watch- these movies are classic examples of nerds using their science and tech skills to overcome overwhelming (and often ridiculous) odds.

We'll be alternating Instructables Show & Tell with Nerd Pride Movie Night every month until we think of something even more entertaining to do. I'm toying with the idea of Bad Science Movie Night (The Core!), but we'll see how the nerd classics fare first. Suggestions are encouraged, but ultimately subject to my dictatorial whim.

Instructable should partner up with Discovery, get Tetranitrate and some others to give Jamie and Adam some ideas/hands. Heck, if J/A had a look at this website they'd probably be amazed at some of this stuff.

The site on Discovery does allow us to submit myths, and ideas :-) I go there when there is no one responding to me here ;-)

::sigh:: I wish. I'd be all like "Hey Kari, wasup", and she would be all like "Hey Tetra, whasup yourself". Then I would be like "Interning rocks!", and she'd be like "Tell me about it!". Then I would be all like ::grand mal::, and she would be like "lol". Life would be good.
