If Today Was Your Last Day... - Nickleback

I bolded the lines / words I thought most interesting and appropriate.

My best friend gave me the best advice
He said each day's a gift and not a given right
Leave no stone unturned, leave your fears behind
And try to take the path less traveled by
That first step you take is the longest stride

If today was your last day
And tomorrow was too late
Could you say goodbye to yesterday?
Would you live each moment like your last?
Leave old pictures in the past
Donate every dime you have?
If today was your last day

Against the grain should be a way of life
What's worth the prize is always worth the fight
Every second counts 'cause there's no second try
So live like you'll never live it twice
Don't take the free ride in your own life

If today was your last day
And tomorrow was too late
Could you say goodbye to yesterday?
Would you live each moment like your last?
Leave old pictures in the past
Donate every dime you have?
Would you call old friends you never see?
Reminisce old memories
Would you forgive your enemies?
Would you find that one you're dreamin' of?
Swear up and down to God above
That you finally fall in love
If today was your last day

If today was your last day
Would you make your mark by mending a broken heart?
You know it's never too late to shoot for the stars
Regardless of who you are
So do whatever it takes
'Cause you can't rewind a moment in this life
Let nothin' stand in your way
Cause the hands of time are never on your side

If today was your last day
And tomorrow was too late
Could you say goodbye to yesterday?

Would you live each moment like your last?
Leave old pictures in the past
Donate every dime you have?
Would you call old friends you never see?
Reminisce old memories
Would you forgive your enemies?
Would you find that one you're dreamin' of?
Swear up and down to God above
That you finally fall in love
If today was your last day

Nickeback aren't that good. But I know a pair of ()s that paid 90 quid each to see them in Manchester? Why?! (not worth going into really...)

Well that would be ~~an ecumenical matter~~ dependent upon whether you regard Nickelback as an individual or a group of people. I thought that they were assembled as a group a long time ago to sell Levis? L

I would think they would be considered a group (so as to be a single) so therefore isn't...i don't know about the Levi's thing

Yes, a group is considered a single entity as long as one is not considering or addressing the group as a bunch of individuals (then they become plural). As in: The members of Nickleback aren't that good....

Believe me, I have forgotten many of the rules of grammar, and just go with what feels right anymore :-) And if someone doesn't like it, tough. I ask, did you understand me? And when they answer yes, then I say case closed. ;-) You can't do that in school of course....

I wasn't really promoting the band as much as the msg of the song....maybe this is miscategorized?

Yes, there's something in there. An artist will push the messages better through a performance. Can you drop in a video clip perhaps?

L

But really, 90 pounds each to see any music act is a bit "steep" for me...

Thanks, but I find it a rather sucky video, I wonder who's behind it? Nigel Dick: Notable Credits: Band Aid, "Do They Know It's Christmas?" Britney Spears, "...Baby One More Time" Guns N' Roses, "Sweet Child O' Mine" Oasis, "Wonderwall" L

Hmm, out of curiosity, what is it about the video you don't like (I won't be offended by your opinion as you have a right to it and a right to express it) ?

Characters looking slightly shifty in the beginning, gives me the impression that they're being presented in that way as a plot-device, which turns out to be true. That's either an old one that I've seen a lot, or it's a bit thin. But what tends to annoy me more is that the suit isn't handing-out dollars to "Crack-head Ted", rather some nice-decent street-bum. It's all a bit too clean and shiny: too much money spent on a straightforward message. It makes me think Nigel Dick wasn't taking anything from the words but was thinking about spending his pay-check and what his next big job will be? L

Yeah, there is definitely proper paths to take, or at least, ones not to take, to get one from here to there, and still experience life to it's fullest.

I know of the problems of certain anti-depressants, and side effects, and interactions etc., you nearly have to as you get past a certain age (or trust the doctors implicitly, which I have never been able to do).

About the only thing I have ever used, truly to enhance my senses, have been fairly natural though; DMAE, in lower doses (mainly through Sardines and Anchovies, when I can find low salt versions of them) and the occasional OTC supplement when the food is in short supply. It helps keep me sharp, and if need be, the occasional infusion of caffeine ;-) I don't need to mess up before I have the experiences I want to have. Like, the trip to NYC, it is ON again, rescheduled. So I WILL get to see it at least once before I am unable to get around much ;-).

I just bought the CD this track was on. I love it. I like how some of the songs are a bit heavier than their old stuff. Especially "Burn it to the Ground" Do you own this CD?

No, Most of the CD's I own are oddly mixed in genre though (one Hart, 3 Trans-Siberian Orchestra, one Beethoven, one Mozart, one Schubert, one Chopin, and a few Classical samplers, plus a few Enya, and one Enigma.

Oh, okay. You should look up a classical pianist named Sergei Rachmaninov. He has a song called Etude Op. 39 No. 6 "Little Red Riding Hood".

Here is a video of an ultra-extremely talented pianist named Valentina Lisitsa doing a performance of this "bone-chilling" song.

Yeah, that's the same song as the song in the link I showed you, it's just that Valentina played it too fast.

I kinda like classical music. It's just something I wouldn't listen to like I would other music. I get new CD's moderately often. But that is for a reason. Downloaded songs do not work on the ZUNE software

I got tired of the many songs with mindless lyrics (old and newer songs) and that was what made me favor music only i.e. Classical.

Too often, people associate classical music with "chamber music only. They assume that it all sounds like Verde, or Pachebel (not that you do). It is irritating when a friend of mine calls all Classical music boring. He has obviously never sat in the front row when the 1812 overture was being played (with the canons LOL)
