No $$$, 2 small sheets of metal, 1000 sq. ft. apartment, and no ideas! Answered

I just moved out to the West Coast in February. I rented a small apartment, which I hate. Last Thursday I decided to go out and buy and buy a toolset. When I got to Lowes', I bought a really cheap drill set with a few other essential tools (also cheap), and continued to spend more money on two 12x18" sheets of weldable steel. I know I can make something out of the steel plates. They're small, but they are big enough that I can make something, though I don't know what. I just need an idea I both like and can complete without getting booted out of my apartment for making "obnoxious noise".

Thank you very much. I have the tools to do that actually, so I will definitely do that. Thanks!

Wish I could find it, but it's not that hard to do. All they did was thin the metal by cutting grooves with a grinder, then fold it. Still it looked nice. L

Yes, that was it. If only I'd thought of the grinder when I was looking (tagged with: tech, sheet, metal, bending, sheetmetal, grinder, panbrake, folder) L

I just looked up "sheet metal" and it was the first result.

You could bend it into a window-box. There's a nice Instructable on this which I cant find, due to bad tags I guess. L
