Following the re-design, I can't see the search box.  Clicks on the orange bar all go to 'Submit a new Instructable'.   This is using IE6 (my employer hasn't moved on).   I haven't yet tried any other browsers.  Is this a browser issue?

OK guys, thanks for your interest.  I'm at home now and have checked out some other browsers.  The Instructables search bar is fine in Firefox, Chrome, Opera and Safari.  The same problem in Avant as in IE6.  I haven't tried IE8 yet.  So it seems down to my employer's slowness in upgrading to something better than IE6.

A great spring day here in London, UK, but I have spent most of it so far putting up shelves.  What's the definitive answer to getting a good fixing in a lath and plaster wall?  But I digress ...

Er, no.  That's the point.  Since the re-design I don't see a large orange button that says 'Search'.  The links seem either to go to /id/edit or back to whatever page I happen to be on.

The grey bar below the ad.s bar has a small orange blob, then Submit New Instructables, followed by a greyed-out Google Custom Search and then a long orange bar.  All this links to /id/edit.  Below that is another small orange blob and Search.  To the right is another, but shorter, orange bar.  All of that links back to the same page.

I will not strike my forerhead just yet.

Could you please post a screen capture?  That would help the Staff figure out why you are seeing what you do.

So, you don't see this, just above your topic?

(Do you also not see the "reply" button at the end of each comment?)

Raise your eyes, ever so slightly.

See that large orange button that says "Search"?  Right next to the big white box that says "GoogleTM Custom Search"?

You may now smack yourself in the forehead.
