I don't think this is spam, Bumpus. DJ posted this to Bugs, which is entirely appropriate.
From looking at his I'ble, it is quite clear that something weird is going on in the database: the INFO box clearly shows a publication date of Monday (Apr 6, 2009), and yet it has comments starting 27 August 2008.
If DJ had deleted and republished it from scratch (e.g., just to get it on the home page), then the new version wouldn't have any comments attached, would it? I already know from testing that doing an Edit->Publish doesn't change anything, including the publication date.

I saw an instructable for the gnasher shotgun come up the other day. It's gone now, but I have seen a lot of mis-timed instructables.

yeah. I took it down for a few weeks, then republished it. I did not make a new ible.

Well, that's interesting. Did you actually republish on Monday, then? Maybe they changed the un/republish behaviour with a recent server update.

i forgot when i republished it. And I thought if you unpublished, then repubish the ible, it doesnt show up in recents.
