PC internet problems Answered

Hello,

For some reason, My pc will cut off internet to websites and such, while maintaining connection with things like Skype and certain parts of steam (e.g. Chat, games, etc, but not store, profile, anything website-based) and all I have to do is restart my PC, which is anoying, cause my pc starts up slow, and has a myriad of startup programs. Has anyone had this problem before, and fixed it? please help me out, I would be very thankful.

Thanks in advance,

In response to all of these comments...

@Computothought My pc works just fine for a while. im on it right now, an to be honest, it hasnt doneit in a while.

@blkhawk Its not a speed problem, my pc is already fast as crap right now. It's just the internet keeps shutting off.

@canucksgirl I have norton pro installed, virus shouldnt be a problem.

@everyone Thanks, but I think the problem has solved itself. It hasnt shut off all day today.

There are several companies that have live repair cd's. You boot with them and they should clean up most things. Go to another machine to download and burn the cd's though.

If you are using Windows, click the Start button on your desktop and type "msconfig" at the bottom and press Enter. This will open the Configuration Utility, select those programs that you don't need or want to start right away. Restart the computer and see if your computer is faster. If your problem continues, you might have a conflicting software or a "malware". Update your antivirus software and run a scan. If after your many attempts you still have problems, backup your data and reinstall Windows.

It sounds like malware (ie a virus). You need to run a program like Malwarebytes to find and clean up the problem.
