Paintball Answered

I'm new to paintball and was wondering if any veterans have tips on strategies, what the best gear is, and other such advice. Basically anything paintball. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Move. Alot. New players tend to stand still or hide behind cover. While this seems like a good 'stay alive' strategy, it sets you up for an extremely painful close encounter. Get down on your belly if you have to, just don't stay behind a spot of cover for extended period. Focus less on them shooting at you, and more on you shooting them. If you get the enemy, they won't be in any position to shoot you. Flank and get personal, especially if your gun is less than stellar. Play to win, in other words. Watch your fire. Another newbie mistake is they go rambo. If you're flipping out and shooting squirrels, or worse, your team mates, don't expect anyone to bail you out when pinned down, or out of ammo. On that note, don't lone wolf it, but don't stalk the guy with the biggest gun either. Communication is key, even if you're just in a pickup group, make friends and talk. Point out enemies, alert people when something comes up. Utilize physics. A shrub wont stop bullets, but it can certainly stop paintballs. Same thing goes for tall grass. Realize though, that paint has a nasty habit of splattering on you (You're out!); so use these only to cover your movement or when nothing else is available. Above all, relax. A bruise or two, maybe a welt. No big deal.

and remember the splattering paint when some is in a position that makes it hard to hit him directly

The best move I ever pulled was to pretend I was out of ammunition and retiring from the game...
(And not running out of balls is a basic)
