Pen / Art supply roll from old jeans? Answered

Hi! I've got a pair of sturdy black jeans that are too damaged to wear anymore, but there's still plenty of material to work with and I'd hate to throw them away. I also urgently need something to hold my countless pens and pencils for my art class, so I thought I'd solve those two issues in one go.
The thing is, I have zero experience with sewing. So it would be absolutely GREAT if someone could post an EASY instructible on how to make a pen roll out of old jeans, you know one of those that holds each pen seperately (either in little pockets or with rubber / denim loops).
Thank you guys in advance,
Lisa

I had a beloved concordance that was "unbinding" itself, so I made a "book cover" out of a jean leg, and glued it into place (after the proper cuts) and coated it with protectant....That was over 5 years ago. Had I thought ahead, I would have put pouches on the front for papers and pens and such

You should look at commercially made products and reverse engineer or figure out how to make them yourself. Research what is out there (this first hit on pen rolls was interesting) and adapt it to what you need...pencils, thick markers, brushes, other items/etc....

Well, if you haven't picked up sewing, try to use the fusible iron-on hemming material. This is essentially a roll of hot-glue tape that you position on the fabric and iron on to fuse together without needle and thread. Just cut into thin strips and apply to mate the fabric together. Or use a hot glue gun, or get a rivet gun, or staple the fabric together, awwww, learn to sew, it's easy... Good luck.
