Private Instructables Not Working? Answered

I have been trying to create a private 'Ible for my coworkers, but it is only visible to me, and others are simply redirected to login or home pages. Is this feature still active?

Although I don't think it is relevant, here are the tech specs: Windows 10, desktop site on Google Chrome. Tested on iOS 9.3.1 Safari, Facebook mobile browser, and Linux.

I have created 2 other private guides over the years and they worked back then.

This seems to be a bug we noticed last week, and it has been reported to the site's developers. Hopefully they'll fix it soon.

In the meantime, a decent work-around is to publish the instructable like normal, and as soon as you see it live and accessible from your profile, open it to edit and then mark it as private. (Normally you can mark it as private without formally publishing it, but currently that's not working for some reason).

Then you can share the URL with anyone and they should be able to access the instructable via that direct link.

If for some reason this doesn't work for you, shoot me a PM and I will take a closer look.

Whoops, sorry. I suppose I should have checked a bit deeper in the forums.

Your solution worked perfectly, thank you. I appreciate it!
