Problem with full screen in Ubuntu
Hey, I've been having a problem recently. I don't know if any one else is having this problem, or if anyone could help. I'm using Ubuntu as my OS. When I go to watch videos in Hulu and I click full screen, it briefly goes full screen (just long enough to see the hit escape to exit notification) then goes back to normal view. Does anyone know how to fix this? NOTE: I already tried disabling Cairo-Dock and it didn't help at all. Thanks in advance.

Oh, that's too bad. What was the problem with it?

No idea, it loads, then dumps me into some sorta kernal-prompt thing....

I had something similar when I tried to install Debian- I accidentally told it to do a minimal command-line-only install and not include any graphics packages- that confused me for a long time. The most recent Ubuntu discs are live CDs which means they should boot straight into a linux desktop that you can then install from- if you have a reasonably standard computer then it should Just Work (TM). If you have an internet conenction and a CD-R there's no reason not to try it.

Which ubuntu did you install? Because if you did the one where you install inside of windows there's an easy fix.

Ok, I tried that but it didn't work. By the way, I finally got my Instructables book. Congratulations! Your instructable looks really nice in there.

Yeah, I was really excited when I got my book yesterday. Yours will probably come soon. A whole bunch of people are posting their pictures with the book so a lot of peoples have already come.

Wish I could get one,but I'm positive that they don't ship to where I live, and even if they did, costs would be astronomical.:(

I used to have the problem with windows, check what's running, it's usually something random and pointless that likes to remind you of things...

I have the same problem exactly, hulu with ubuntu full screen. The way I think I fixed it is to pop it out of the window and then to drag the poped out player to full screen as possible. Hope that helps. Thanks

try to switch up or down screen resolution ?
Reply 12 years ago
I've tried that and I don't think that's the problem. Thanks, though.

. Maybe Hulu thinks the screen is bigger than it really is? Check the Hulu config.
