Pulse Sensing Heart Pendant Answered

Hey Guys,

I would like to create a pendant that would light up from my heartbeat, that I could give to my girlfriend for valentines day, any idea how i could do this?

perhaps her pendant can have an RF sensor, that would activate the heart when you come near whearing a rf transmiter

How versed are you in electronics? Did you want the pendant to light up when you are in close proximity or did you wan an internet link or something remote? And how much money did you want to spend, a mcrocontroller like an arduino and additional components to do this might add up.

Id like to spend atleast less than $100. And it could be either the internet or nearby proximity. Im relatively good at making electronics, but coding is relatively hard for me

You might have to step up to an FLORA to add more complexity. I wouldn't do a real-time heartbeat sensor though. I tried one and they are touchy to set up and wear. You could just simulate with heart rates that light up leds in an interesting manner. I think you can get away with having an IR emitter on your person to beam across some flash codes to an IR receiver on the LED pendant. There should be some examples to use out there.
