Quick question about turrets Answered

I planning on maybe building a turret gun and I was just wondering if the White rod mini pins on the tr-8 are essential for good ranges from a turret, as, if it is viable, I would quite like to build a turret without the mini pins.
thanks,

Basically, the reason they're there from my understanding is that it allows you to lock the ammo in the chamber and then have a way to stop the turret from advancing if there's a round in the camber. If you didn't have mini pins, you'd have to find a way to lock the ammo without much friction and to rotate the turret if there's no round in it.

ah yes, that never occured to me. I was thinking of building a gun that reloads in the same way as an mp412 REX does, but, as you've said, it is probably not likely to be able to work reliably. Anyway thanks for answering

Yup yup. And it's one of those things too that you may want to find a better alternative to, but it's just simple and reliable. The next best thing you can do is have some sort of mechanism automatically rotate it by exactly one chamber each shot, but that's more trouble than it's worth.
