So "Poe wrote on both" - Sam Loyd

As it turns out Carroll wrote as an afterthought on the nonsensical riddle...

"Enquiries have been so often addressed to me, as to whether any answer to the Hatter's Riddle can be imagined, that I may as well put on record here what seems to me to be a fairly appropriate answer, viz: 'Because it can produce a few notes, tho they are very flat; and it is nevar put with the wrong end in front!'"

See here for more ideas...

My favourite pithy response is "Both have inky quills", if you are old enough to know what a quill is :)

My favourite is... "There's a b in both and an n in neither"... fits the original vibe

... I don't get it? There's an 'n' in both and a 'b' in neither, unless that's the whole point.

There is a "B" in "B"oth and an "N" in "N"either. Conceiveably, it could be used to answer any possible association riddle.

Except that PKM is correct. See the original riddle, "How is a raven like a writing desk?" There is, in fact, an 'n' in both, and a 'b' in neither.

Wait, but uniqueutopia (and others who speculate on the riddle) specifically wrote "there is a "b" in both and an "n" in neither", not the other way around. Yes, the reverse is actually true, but I think the point is that the answer is true regardless of the question.

Yes... A nonsensical (or twisted) answer to fit the nonsensical riddle...

The riddle comes, of course, from Alice in Wonderland - the answer being, the Mad Hatter doesn't know!

(Heeeeeee being a form of laughter, in this case gently derisive laughter)

There is no raven, there is no desk. There is only the dharma.
