Resistor Example Wrong? Answered

In the example above, 680 ohm resistor, isn't the correct value 690 ohm as the second band is white and not grey?

It is 680 ohms. The band in question is gray, not white. Further 680 ohms is a standard value. 690 ohms is not. This is a more common problem in photos of resistors than in actual resistors. Another resistor color code confusion often arises between gray bands and silver bands.
