Ring Contest Question Answered

I have a question regarding the ring contest. Did you have to actually make the ring or could you have designed it, planned out what went into it, created a mold model, and had a jeweler create the finished product from your design?

I designed my wife's engagement ring with drawings and even a wax model but did not have the proper tools or materials to actually make it so a local jeweler put my design into reality and I critiqued it until it was exactly as I wanted.

Does that count for this contest?

Thanks for the replies. I will have to sort out where all of my pictures are of the process and hope to have enough time to put an instructable together.

Me, I'd say you were fine - we often get instructables where things get handed over to a specialist for a step or two.

I agree, though to have a chance at winning you'd have to have pictures of all the steps leading up to sending it to the jeweler. It might be quite enlightening to hear of how you dealt with the jeweler as well.

That's definitely allowed! I can't wait to see what you made and what I will learn from it!
