Robot T-shirts- the Extended Family Answered

Check it out- someone made an awesome list of 50 Robot t-shirts!

There are some pretty fabulous designs- I particularly like the Robot vs. Monkey Dance-Off, RoboFrankenstein, Every Skyline Needs a Giant Robot, and the Robot Dance Contest.

Our favorite robot is somewhere about half-way down. We clearly need to take some classy pictures with real live models. Maybe someone around here has a camera...

Are you saying I'm thin? Woah, buddy, you have not seen me then. Just kidding, I know you meant the avatar. You look like a robot. With a big head. I don't think that is y, either. Plus, you are a guy. Still, Instructables, send me a T-Shirt!

Its not instructables site it just some guy who sells a bunch of t-shirts with robots on them. I probably should make a new avatar I made that in 5th grade.

This just reminded me -- do you guys still have those "old-fashioned" shirts? The white ones that said "Instructables" with the hand?

Sorry- we're all out of the old ones! They're now collectors' items. Maybe you can find an early adopter, beat them up, and steal their shirt.

Wha... wha?
I regret not being able to do something useful with those magnets. *cries*

Speaking of which -- can we do something like that again? Use item X contests. The only one we've had since then was the irobot one, but something cheaper, for obvious reasons.
Is that just too hard because there's no sponsor?

Is there any way to get them at all? Is it against terms of use or whatever to use your logos to make one?

Beating up someone sounds fun though... if any one out there is smaller than me, and has one of those shirts, please tell me where you live. I'd like to send you a present! or something like that

Now just to keep blood off the shirt...

Is there hope of you guys making them again?

I believe the logos are of fair use, as long as it isn't for commercial reasons. There was a topic a while back which gave the high-quality versions so people could "play" with them. Or so I think....

Yeah, I was thinking about those. I just didn't know the licence.

Go ahead and use the logo to make your own shirt! You've got our express permission to make them for your own use; you just can't sell them.

Oh good. I put on my original Instructables shirt the other day and it was badly stained. From one of my animals. Aargh.

Rats...I was hoping I could get one instead of a third Robot *next* time I win a contest.
Speaking of which, right now there is the Launch It! Challenge, which ends Sunday, and the RealSimple doodad, which ends some other time. Are there other contests in the works, now that two other fairly major contests have ended (Go Green and Science Fair)?

Hi, thanks a lot for linking to my article, I'm glad you like it. If anyone does take a picture of themselves wearing the tee then I'll gladly replace the stock image that I have in the post at the moment, just take a look at the contact page on my blog to see how to get in touch. And yes, I signed up just to post this, but I'm glad I could give a little something back to Instructables since I love browsing this site.

*grin* I'm more looking at it as a resource for awesome t-shirts. Half the point of this forum post is to file my favorites for future reference...
