Rubberband gun shooter thing help Answered

I'm new so I'm not sure if I'm posting in the  right area but i need help. I'm trying to make a rubber band gun shooter thing but sometimes when i try to let the rubber band go it gets stuck. I originally used a metal piece with three angles and now im using a old allen rench. Normally when pulled back i use my hand to keep it steady but since i needed to take the picture i used a nail (probably not the best thing to use when stretching a rubber band), but anyways i was wondering if anyone had an idea to make the rubber band  ball thing always go off?

P.S.  need an idea for the wooden gun shape.

For the shape of the rubber band gun you could check out some guns on Google images, that's how I came up with the shape of my RBGs.

Not to interfere with RMS's answer,  but by "lowering" the allen wrench,  I am assuming he means, making the hole it fits in, deeper, so it is not so "highup" and getting in the way.

His idea of using a finishing nail is a good one too.....face it at an angle so it's head is away from the "shooter"  and it should work quite well

Sorry RMS,  I hope I didn't "step on your toes" with this post.

Yup, that's what I was trying to say. My first post that went poof was a little more detailed. Thanks for clarifying.

This is my second attempt at posting. The first one apparently went *poof*. Charm....

Your allen wrench is mounted too high. I'd suggest either lowering it so that it's flush with the wood, or replacing it with a finishing nail driven in from the front. Also, the forward-pointing end can be much shorter. Both of these changes should go a long way toward improving the release of the rubber band.
