Should i solder my EL-Tape in Serie or Parallel? Answered

I'd like to solder 6 different EL-Tape's to eachother. These are connected to one converter with 2AA battery's. I'd like them to have a high intensity. The batterylife is of lesser concern. Should I solder them in series or in Parallel?

EL tape is a capacitive load and series connections are just like paralleling the capacitor EL load in a cable like distributive way.

If your driver cannot properly light then in parallel it won't be able to light them wired end to end either, because the total capacitance is too much for the driver.

A longer EL has more capacitive load then a short one !

You may have to up the driver or split the load between two separate drivers.

Your driver may not like too much parallel load. Take care it doesn't burn out.

In parallel for equal intensity.

Should you put them in series the last would be the most dim.

A stronger converter is the best way to increase intensity.

Sine waveform and 400Hz frequency are the better EL drivers.
