Speakers working on car battery Answered

Hello everyone,

I'd like to know is this kind of setup will work properly..
I have 12 570A 70Ah car battery I'll hook it on power inverter (12VDC to 220VAC 150W) and then on speakers (220VAC 190W).

Please note the pictures,

Thanks in advance!

Your battery in top form can provide 840 watt hrs of power.

Your inverter is using 150 watts = a bit because it isn't 100% efficient.

Your amplifier needs 190 watts to work at peak efficiency assuming you have given us a power rating and not a music power rating i.e. the amplifier output.

SO your battery can drive your Inverter for perhaps 5 hours

Your Amplifier will more than likely work of sorts but not as loud as it did when connected to the mains and as said you may well get horrific noise from the Inverter.

Try it and see.

Please note: no pictures are attached to your topic.

But I can almost picture it in my mind.

I am imagining the thing you call "speakers" is actually an amplifier plus speakers, but you call it "speakers" because, I dunno, I guess that's what you think it's called, and I have heard, read, others use the word "speakers" in that sense.

Anyway, I suspect that you can hook all that stuff together, but when you do, you'll hear a lot of inverter noise.

But don't take my word for it, because I could be wrong.

So I think you can safely hook all that stuff together, in fact it seems kind of weird that you have not done this already.

Oh right! You want the blessing of the Instructables Answers forum first, because you have some fears, or doubts, or something.

Well, I think you can safely hook that equipment up, without it breaking the equipment. It's just that I suspect it will make a buzzing sound so irritating that it will be hard to listen music. But I could be wrong about that, so you should try it just to see, and hear, what you get.

No pics..
And I fail to see how an inverter makes music, if you connect speakers to them you usually only get smoke for a few seconds.
