Spell Checker on search
I propose a new feature similar to Google, where is you make a spelling mistake in your search is comes up with "Did you mean: etc", because its rather annoying when you think your spelling of a word is correct but when you search it no 'ibles come up.

Difficult - who's wrong spelling are you thinking of - yours or the people who bad-tagged their work?

I was meaning, if I use the search box and accidentally spell 'pinapple', when the results come up, it says something like 'Did you mean: pineapple?'. Basically the same sort of system Google uses.

Yes, but you might get "Did you mean pinapple?" when you spell it right. It's still a good idea.

Yes, but what if the author spells it, "pinaplle?" as Lemonie is asking. If the author does, it'd be impossible to find the instructable with spelling "pineapple," or "pinapple."

Good point, however an automatic spell check could work for when typing, searching, and writing an instructable.

Firefox does that for me anyway. But the search option is a toss between "I can't spell" or "they can't spell" and I find with Google that I'm saying "no I didn't, I know what I'm after"...

No, what I mean is, Instructables will automatically replace the incorrect spelling of a word with the correct spelling, as long as the word isn't made up, or so terribly wrong you don't know what it's suppose to be.
I don't think it'd be able to replace incorrect grammer though.
(I know, grammar.)

Oh yes I get it, but are you going to be presented with "you spelled it wrong" of "they did"? It's a good idea, possibly worth implementing.

I think I know what you mean. Either way though, with the automatic spelling fixer, that wouldn't be an issue. However you are right. If is is just a spell checker, if the author spelled the name of the instructable incorrectly, it'd be hard to find.

Or a spell checker for the search box perhaps?
