Itunes is stuck? Answered

Apparently my itunes refuses to work for me anymore and I cannot access my 20 gig music collection. It opens for like 5 seconds and then just locks the entire computer up and I have to force it off. Oh yeah and it's a ibook G4 has anyone had any similar problems?

Well I just removed the playlist and tried re-adding my library to a fresh library file, and sure enough, it's still locking up. I read online somewhere that shapeshifter can do that to it, so to add it to the list of exceptions that it doesn't change the theme on. My itunes looks more normal now, but still locks up, I got like 10 artist folders in and it locked up on ONE song.

. De-authorize iTunes. Uninstall iTunes. Install iTunes. Authorize iTunes.

It's a mac, you can't exactly uninstall anything.

actually, fyi most apps on a mac are self contained, if you just delete the app file, that should be it.

MOST. Have you actually gone into the system folders and seen how many library files that mostly any application you run on a mac leaves? Those are the files you want gone, and itunes particularly branches out quite deep into the system.

. Can't you search by File Creator and/or Type? Or is that old MacOS stuff?

. So once you put an appl on your Mac, it's there forever? Neat trick. Hope you have plenty of HDD space.

I wish I had a nice big ipod. Well I did, but it died on me last year. I don't actually have an itunes account so there's nothing to de-authorize..

Oh! I didn't catch that important part. You should use Winamp or something free. There are actually great free players out there.

iTunes goofs with large amounts of music. Better off using some third party software that handles large libraries better.

But I've never really came across anything I've liked. Windows media player definately isn't a alternative.

That's why iTunes sucks. I got a Zune, and now everything is fine.

On a mac it doesn't suck. Maybe it's your off tinted blue pc.

Nah. I love mine. Everything is narrowed down and simple not like: To scroll, just rotate your Philanges around the amazingly difficult to use touch ring.

Nah. Zune is simpler than eating dirt out of a mayonnaise jar.
