Temperature control Answered

Hey I am wondering how to make something to shut off a heat source at a certain temperature. The heat source is a normal appliance that is plugged into the wall.

Look into bimetallic strips - found in irons, kettles and heating thermostats.

I'm not really sure on how to make much myself. If you know of any instructables that I could follow as a guide it'd be very helpful.

You could mate a digital thermostat with a 12v coil, mains rated relay and desolder the thermistor from the thermostat and all wires to make it remote.
