Internet ad awarness Answered

One of my children was on a game site called "girl games", and a very inappropriate ad was displayed in the center of the screen without any prompting from my child. My children will no longer be going on this site, and I think a whole lot more discretion and good judgment should be used by the site as far as their ads are concerned. The ad was very upsetting to my children, and therefore to myself. These ads are for a website called 'IMVU', which is a 3-D avatar chat room. The ads show skimpily dressed people, usually female, in compromising positions. They are placed on all kinds of web sites, even though the website in question may contain games for small children, which is indeed were this ad was. Do we want our children looking at disgusting and perverted images like this?

It honestly doesn't matter where you go on the internet more then 50 % of the data is "Pink" You need to teach them what is inappropriate, and explain to them why, kids are curious, it's part of there learning process, Don't be surprised if they go looking, while your not there, and commonly they won't like what they find, but honestly from having kids the more you try and suppress stuff the harder they try.to find it, and it's just because they want to know why your trying to hide it from them... So sit down and talk to them, Parental control software is cheap, and only catches some data on the internet, proper parenting is free, and also works in real life situations... Also placing the computer where you can see it works wonders and so does learning T9 English ...

I think your overreacting, I went to the site (which may I ad was really weird), click refresh a couple times until I got to an imvu ad, and all I saw was a girl kissing (barely, even) a crudly drawn guy/girl (couldn't really tell, lol). I saw nothing wrong with it. There are sooo many other things you could be over protected of, why, there's worse stuff in disney movies! In aladin the girls half naked most of the time, and she goes running off with a thief! What do you think of that!
