Thinkin' Question Answered

This one's been on my mind for a quite a while now, just wanted to know what y'all think.

Would you want to be a leader if no one followed you?

I would. If people don't want to follow me, that's their decision. My decision is to do what's best for me.

What say you?

followers are people who can't or won't think for themselves. I would like to see a world of leaders. weather or not your are in a group of like minded leaders or not is irrelivant as long as you have the integrity to follow your own lead

What is the use of leading, if the only person you are leading is yourself?

By "true" definition, one who "leads" goes first and other follow. If no one follows, you are not leading anyone :-)

I agree with Goodhart. "Leader" isn't just some honorary title with perks. It's a FUNCTION. A very important function. If you're not being followed, you're doing it wrong, and whatever your team is supposed to be accomplishing is probably going all to hell. This is what makes leadership a difficult and valuable skill.
