To desertdog and others-solar dish power generation/cooking/heating/cooling? Answered

How -much power can you generate with one dish daily/weekly/seasonally?
         - many people can one recycled dish feed twice or three times a day on a seasonal basis?
Is portable or fixed the safest way to operate? How do you store the power?
How do you keep it safe and not self destructing in itself/at the focus points?

The sun puts down roughly 1000 W / sq metre, in full summer, normal (right angles) sun.

Your dish area is the capture surface, and its nothing like 100% efficient of course, so you might reckon on only 400W of effective heating at the focus of the dish. PER square metre of collecting surface. So, a 1 metre dish, with an area of 0.8 m^2, will only collect ~350W, a 2 metre dish would collect 1200W.

1. You can cook almost anywhere that is sheltered and there is sun

2. Don't understand the second point.

3. You don;t store the energy you use the suns concentrated heat to cook the food.

4. You control the heat by moving the food in and out of the beam focus.
