Troubles with a Torx Security screw Answered

This is a Tamper Resistant screw called Torx Security because it has a pin in the middle and a common hex driver can't go in.
I need to take it out without having to buy a Torx driver (very expensive) and not knowing the size either (I guess 2/4" or 6mm). Thank you for your input!

Not a very welcoming comment, to put it mildly.
No, I don't expect anyone to drill it out for me, I expect a classy, elegant way to tackle this little "project" and this is the right place to ask for positive input.
BTW, the bit you're talking about cost 3 times more than the item I'm trying to open and will be used again around 2089.......if we still have a planet with humans.
I, for one, will stay away from Black & Decker items that use, for no reason, these Torx Security screws.

If you can get to it, you can snap that little pin off with a small screw driver and a hammer, just bend it one way and back the other way.

And how shall we help, drill it out for you?
A set of these bits goes for under 20 bucks, so either buy it or leave the screw in where it is.
